I can ALWAYS count on Bernie and his team--this is the 14th car we have purchased from Bernie, and 2nd Sweet 16 birthday surprise...first our son, and now for our daughter. She was very sad because her birthday was during the quarantine...and when the DMV finally opened, we promised her that she would get her driver's license. Bernie found her "dream car"...2020 Kia Forte with a sun roof. It all happened so incredibly fast! Bernie worked with Mike and Todd to show her the car to make sure she loved it. But once we realized the DMV was open, we needed to get the car in a matter of a few hours! Bernie and his team were on it. Bernie called Greg and they go it done! When Greg informed us, a very short time after that the car was ours, my heart melted. I was literally at the DMV, waiting for my daughter to finish her drive. Once my daughter came home from the DMV, very sad, because we had her convinced that we needed to wait and get her new car later in the summer...she was in shock. I had occasion recently to bring my 2011 Edge into Rock River Ford for service. I needed the Radiator flushed. I know that the Edge with the 3.5 Duratec Engine calls for a particular Coolant. I asked Darrell about that. He said (Just a minute Dave,Lets talk to parts) He got the answer and explained to me why the Dark Green coolant is important for the complete health of the motor and especially the water pump. I asked him if he would have the mechanic give the whole underneath of my car a look over while it was on the hoist. That was done and the mechanic not only assured me that I the car was GOOD. I did need a left ball joint. I had that done the next day. The Mechanic not only told me the importance of using the dark green coolant but he gave me a bottle half full of it for my convenience Just in case in needed some later I was completely happy with the attention I got from Darrell and also his mechanic. I wish I had his name because he was great..

There is a BIG difference between dealership services offered in Chicago vs. a non-city dealership. I have dual heating/AC, and one side of the car is stuck on heat, the other on AC. However, the car is still hot. The first time this happened, I told the dealership where I bought the car about my Narcolepsy and intolerance for heat which will make me sleepy behind the wheel and can they PLEASE squeeze me in? The best they offered me was an appointment 7+ days away. Fortunately, it fixed itself prior to the appointment date. Fast forward a year or so later, I'm in Rockford, it happens again, told them the same thing and that I can't drive back to the city in a hot car, what did they do? Squeeze me in and they are just as busy!! Go figure. Not to mention, offered me a car (repeatedly) while I wait for repairs, which isn't offered at my dealership. Never again will I purchase a car in the city. It is consistently my experience that you always get the hood version of customer service.
